I am extremely pleased with the performance of the 12 Solar Panels installed on 17th May 2010. I have kept a daily log and enclose the summary to date which shows the key features with a total generation of 440 units as of 02/07/2010 with a daily average of 9.56 units over the total period.
The installation is the only one in our village and there is considerable interest – the recent sunshine has of course helped enormously. There are a few features which enhance the installation.
1) The control unit is in the garage and easily accessible for me and others to watch/ monitor events.
2) I have installed 2 OWL electricity sensors- one on the solar feed and the other on the external mains supply. I have the 2 wireless monitors in the house (see photos) and we can see exactly what is happening at any time. It is sometimes necessary to interpret which way the current is flowing when the balance is close. There is also a link I can use to show the current flows on my computer.
I also enclose photographs of the panels and the electrical connection details with the current sensors and the remote indicator meters.
The 12 panels are on a roof which is sloped at 40 degrees from horizontal and has an orientation of 20 degrees west of south.
Yours Sincerely
D E Tisdall
